FIND YOUR BASE

Where should you stay?

Choose a base near the beach or stretch of clifftop coast where you want to spend most of your time. A smaller property or a more exclusive hotel can both work, but distance to restaurants and excursions matters. Combine a temple visit and sunset with plenty of time for transport.

Two days in Uluwatu without rushing

Build your stay around one beach and one evening experience instead of covering all of southern Bali in a day. With children or limited mobility, ask specifically about steps and access between your hotel, vehicle and beach.

Day 1: the coast near your base

Start with your own coastal area. A sea view does not necessarily mean direct access to a swimming beach. Check local instructions, waves and access before entering the water. Keep the evening flexible after arriving from Ubud or the airport.

Day 2: the temple and an optional performance

Visit Uluwatu Temple and choose Kecak dance if you want a cultural evening. Indonesia's official tourism organisation describes temple admission and dance tickets as separate purchases. Check what your chosen tour includes. Wear a sarong and follow local dress instructions. Keep your distance from monkeys and secure loose belongings.

Compare inclusions before booking

For a ticket, check admission, performance and transport. For a private tour, check pickup area, waiting time and the return journey. For a dinner combination, establish whether food is included or paid for at the restaurant. Compare the actual inclusions, rather than just the title or price.

Choose one of the existing tours and ticket options that fits your plans. Pair the coast with Ubud for Bali's green interior. Use the Bali guide for the overall seasonal plan.

Three ideas for your days

01

Uluwatu Temple and Kecak dance

Combine a visit to Uluwatu Temple with a Kecak performance. Accompanied by rhythmic choral chanting, the dance offers a cultural experience on Bali's dramatic clifftop coast.

Beaches in southern Bali

Explore beaches such as Nusa Dua, Melasti and Padang Padang with a private driver, combining coastal scenery with Uluwatu Temple. The route and included admission fees depend on the tour option selected.

03

Sunset, dance and Jimbaran

A private tour combines Uluwatu Temple, Kecak dance and dinner in Jimbaran. Culture and an evening by the coast come together in one itinerary, while the sunset colours naturally depend on the weather.
